I found the story interesting, especially the whole new system of magic. The characters were interesting, and the pace quite quick and satisfying. Some more character development would be good, and will hopefully occur organically throughout the series. As a first in a series, I found it to overall be a good start, and I look forward to the next book/story installment!!!
If you are a fan of Star Wars the story will be familiar. An exciting mix of coming of age story, magic, technology and adventure. The story was originally written in French and the English translation is almost perfect. The book is fast paced yet detailed like a fantasy adventure should be. Strong characters and interesting creatures from myth. A great debut novel can't wait for the sequel.
My son loved this book and couldn’t put it down! He can’t wait until the second one comes out!!
